21 questions: Take On Montlake’s UW football subscriber survey
Soliciting subscriber feedback on all aspects of the Huskies program and conference landscape.
At my last job, it became regular practice to gauge readers on how they’re feeling about the Washington Huskies football program. The most recent such survey, published in February 2022, helped establish a baseline for opinions and expectations of Kalen DeBoer ahead of his UW debut.
It’s a good time to check back in, because much has changed since. DeBoer led the Huskies to an 11-2 record and Alamo Bowl victory in Year 1. Michael Penix Jr. set the school’s single-season passing record and became a Heisman Trophy candidate. UW likely will enter the 2023 season as a top-10 team. Also, USC and UCLA announced plans to leave the Pac-12, and the conference’s media-rights negotiations remain unconsummated. Washington’s immediate future — the upcoming football season — is exciting, but big-picture considerations cloud the long view.
While this isn’t exactly the same readership, I’ll make the assumption that a good number of On Montlake subscribers might have participated in past surveys, so this likely is a format many of you are familiar with — and it should be fairly instructive to compare the results of this survey against those from 16 months ago. Your responses also provide valuable data to consider when shaping my coverage.
