An all-time Husky, bleeds P&G. What more could you ask for. Oh yeah, 90 clones of him who play all the other positions! :) God bless you CB!

Amen. A Husky through and through. I'll have a special place in my heart for all these guys that stayed on Montlake through multiple coaching transitions.

Gotta imagine that losing his last Apple Cup as a sixth year legacy is a pretty intense motivator to pound some opponents into the dirt.

Give ‘em hell.

Carson Bruener reminds me of another great player who didn’t start until his Senior year. This other guy went to USC as a walk-on in 2004, didn’t get a scholarship until 2006, and didn’t start until 2008, his final year as a Trojan. That would be Clay Matthews. Bruener isn’t as big as Mathews, but they share one major trait – elite athleticism at the linebacker position. Watching Bruener’s interception returns and coverage skills, it seems clear to me that could have also been a running back or a safety. Guy is fast. I remember him chasing a guy down the sideline last year. He got the tackle, but what was most eye-popping is that he passed one of our DBs to get there. And it wasn’t an angle thing. They were on the same path, Bruener was behind the DB, and he cruised right by him. So why has this gifted, relentlessly productive athlete come off the bench until now? If he stays healthy, everybody in the Big 10 and the NFL will be asking that same question. And the inquiries will be directed to William Inge and Chuck Morell.

With Carson in the game, odds of winning and seeing a dynamic play go up. One of the Husky Pantheon…
