Montlake Monday: Fisch on facilities, Quentin Moore, Adam Mohammed and more
Washington wants more money.
SEATTLE — Do you know what Normatec boots are?
I don’t. Err — I didn’t. But Fisch mentioned them at his Monday press conference, so I performed Google duties and learned they are compression boots, a recovery tool used to “temporarily increase the circulation in your legs, reduce muscle pain and aches, and increase your warm up time and recovery time post-workout.”
Anyway, these are the types of next-generation resources Fisch wants the Huskies to have, and that desire is part of why he and his wife, Amber, donated $1 million to UW’s recently launched fundraising campaign.
The athletic department is once again asking for your financial support in order to absorb the costs associated with both its move to the Big Ten and the — ahem — changing landscape of college athletics, including increased travel budgets, investment in athlete wellness (i.e. nutrition) and future revenue sharing with athletes.
And, of course, facilities, one of Fisch’s primary talking points since he took the job in January.
