It seems likely we’ll lose our OT recruit who’s no longer flying under the radar, and unlikely we’ll be able to flip one of the top receivers since the teams they are currently committed to picked up impressive QB’s. The OT will hurt the most, especially since it’s reported that he has family ties to an ugly green team.
It should be an eventful portal with the needs we have. Our staff are very good recruiters, so I expect to hear some good news in December.
Lots of teams over spend on players for the first year or two on each recruiting class, and we should be able to get solid semiveterans that can be coached up. At least that’s my hope.
I wonder what Fisch’s NIL budget is for the season? Does he tell Montlake Futures how much he needs? Do they tell him how much they can raise? Fisch suggested that Oregon and Ohio State each have $20M rosters. Is that the number he’s looking for at Washington? For reference, Montlake Futures had $4.9M in revenue and $3.5M in expenses for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. It’s not clear from Montlake Futures IRS Form 990 how much is going to players.
Still amazes me Sam Adams is still on the roster with the little he plays....maybe just loves it here especially with his family here. Will Otton ever play? Definitely not as durable as his brother. A lot of D Line thought would play more the Parker Brother and Wayne. Have a lot of DBs wonder how many stay like Curly who was highly touted and Presley who shunned the ducks to come here.
By your count that is 93. I know there will be some leaving like those CBs and WRs. But that's still a lot more that would have to leave. With taking maybe 12 portals...that 105. That means that 20 other players would have to leave. I would guess if they haven't already told players they won't be welcomed back that they will tell a few that might be better off entering the portal
Duck Fan checking in on the eve eve of the penultimate game for these two teams innaugural run in the B1G. Of course I want Oregon to win - and do not assume it will happen automatically. Coach Lanning is 0-3 against the Dawgs, so hubris here would be misplaced.
Here's hoping college recruiting is not solely about NIL compensation. I don't think it is but understand the views of those who do. May the process evelove. And may the best team win.
Certainly enjoyed y'all's slugfest with the red UW. I guess you pulled out the win, but not super convincing y'all have exorcised the UW demon was it???
Sounds like Gabriel will have his fav Tez back so maybe that's a help fer ya. But looks like we might finally have Durf and Deuce out there to make things a little uncomfortable
EDIT: OHHH, and BTW. tell the players to at least try to get it straight WHICH leg it is they are claiming is hurt when they go down
Keep Grady, but pay that Gomez kid from Eastern Michigan. That kid would have won the Rutgers game alone, let alone changed the trajectory of other games.
And what does traveling to the game have to do with anything. What does what he look like have to do with his kicking. You sound like a little cry baby 12 yr old pos. If Holmes doesn't run onto the field we win the game but maybe if you had actually watched the game you would know that
How many games were won last year by a margin less than the points added by Grady Gross? A lot. Can you point to another game this year where Grady missing is the only reason they lost? Nope.
Rutgers maybe….it was a long night but I think he went 1-4. Missed that super long one to tie at the end but two others as well? I can’t remember this crazy fan from Yelm was losing his mind next to me. Calling out phantom penalties and obscenities to the football gods. Be Better
Wow, lots of slots to plug but these coaches seem to be good at it. Go Dawgs.

That's why if I had a kid that was being recruited I would make sure he doesn't commit until he is absolutely certain that is where he wants to go.

I would bet my 401k that $20M is not our number, unless it’s a 4 or 5 year plan we’re talking about.
That tracks. I do wonder how the heck money flows to players. The process seems very opaque.

It's actually the eve eve eve.
Point taken. I an deep into the holiday hooch :)
If ducks lose you want Lanning to leave?
No. Never. Lanning will be at Oregon for a long time. No university job will lure him. The NFL? I don't see it any time soon - but you never know.
Doesn’t Valdez have another year of eligibility, if he wants it?!?
No. He's played four full seasons.
Cut Grady and his beer gut. He is horrendous and cost us several games.
Seems a bit harsh.
No kidding but also no surprise coming from that poster.

Grady didn't lose us the rutgers game.
I traveled for the Rutgers game. He missed THREE FGs. We lost by 3. Do the math people. We win if h
We have a reasonably athletic kicker who doesn't kick and look like Chunk from Goonies.

He didnt cost of any games you dip. Maybe you should get out there and try it.
Tough season. We will be back to glory again. UW is a special place

Grady isn't the reason we lost any of the games...not one.
The illegal substitution penalty is more responsible for that loss than Grady. But yeah that was a bad game
