I get why everyone is fine with Fisch going for two at the end (I was too), but I don't understand why there is no criticism that he didn't go for two after the previous TD.
Isn't it just Analytics 101 that, when you're down 14, you go for two after the *first* TD? If he had done it then, and it had failed to convert, then they could have gone for two again after the second TD and had a chance to go to overtime. By waiting to the second TD to go for two, they threw away a free option to win in overtime.
Unless he suddenly changed his mind about going for two on the last touchdown drive, I can't understand why he wouldn't have gone for two earlier.
I totally don't understand why anyone feels sorry for Oregon. They're supposed to be the best team in football, they had a month off and great fan showing in the Rose Bowl and they didn't get the job done. Isn't that what a national championship team is supposed to do?
