Christian thanks for the LCC mention. It was a big weekend for the Polis family. Tony and I were talking all the way through it. Really enjoyed hearing your discussion here. My pick for the best player in CC history, including pre-NWAC, might be Byron Beck, Columbia Basin, 1965-66 who went on the play for the Denver Rockets of the ABA and later the Nuggets, who retired his jersey. Side note: When I worked at the Longview Daily News as a young reporter, I covered my brother Mike's WAACC championship game when LCC lost to Peninsula CC 132-130 in overtime, a historic game played at the Mark Morris gym. Of particular note, Bernie Fryer, who started at the UW and transferred to Peninsula, hung 57 on Lower Columbia that night. He went on to start at BYU, then some NBA and, of course, a great NBA officiating career.

Robert Upshaw has one of my favorite sports-reference pages. I love that he came along and set the single season blocks record in half a season and then the very next season Malik Dime broke it by one block but in double the games. Such a weird era

It's not football, but I can def say that the availability of all the women's hoops games on Big+ has decreased the likelihood I would make the long drive in to watch in-person.

Great discussion on the best basketball team possibilities. I would think you're leaving out the best stretch 3, Detlef Schremph. Also under consideration should be Christian Welp. Probably the best pure center the Dawgs have had. All of these thoughts are IMHO, of course.

I think Ian’s question was Romar-specific.

Baseball does (rarely) have in game interviews with players. Here is Victor Robles getting interviewed about his pet monkeys while chasing fly balls last season: https://youtu.be/a-iFHiAq3mQ?si=w0Tk_rVKuplDSpGi
