First, I have no problem with Billy Joe being a Husky Legend. I mean, Isaiah Stanback is a Husky Legend. Of course, if Stanback had played on that 1991 Huskies, he too would be a national champion.

Here's the thing. Go ahead and honor Billy Joe. But to say he's the greatest qb in Husky history? He was somewhere between the 20th and 22nd best starter on that team. He was a good qb on a great team, with a great line and a great receiver corps - Bailey,McKay, Pierce. Beno Bryant and Jay Berry and Napoleon Kaufman, with Matt Jones leading the way. There is a serious halo effect around him caused by the glow of the national championship. Let's honor him for being an important part of our history and perfectly capturing the swagger of that team, but greatest?

Still love him for what he did.

You make it sound like he was Ken Dorsey. His leadership, confidence and arrogance was perfect for that team.

First, I have no problem with him being named a Husky Legend. He's a really good QB, just not the greatest Husky QB ever as Mr O'Neill suggested. I would state that if you took Moon, Chandler, Millen and put then in Gilbie's offense and let them start as far downfield as the '91 Huskies did, they would have torn people apart. USC and Cal wouldn't have been close.

I would also say, yeah, you hit something there with Dorsey. Their stat line is almost identical, as were their pro careers. I wouldn't question Dorsey's leadership or confidence. You don't get to be QB on a great team if you lack those characteristics. The big thing that Hobert had was he was the vocal epitome of the swagger that the team had.
